Ayushman Bharat PMJAY is the world's largest government-funded health insurance scheme. It covers 10.74 crore+ poor families (50 crore beneficiaries) for hospitalization expenses up to ₹5 lakh per year at empanelled hospitals.

The ₹5 lakh limit is per family per year for all listed family members together.
Over 1,500+ medical packages covering surgery, medical, and day care procedures. Pre-existing conditions are also covered.
Only members listed in the SECC 2011 database are eligible. New additions require state health authority approval.
