What is Railway Services (IRCTC)?

IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) is the official online platform for booking Indian Railways tickets. It covers 13,000+ trains, 8,000+ stations, and offers e-tickets, i-tickets, and tatkal booking.

QWhen does tatkal booking open?

Tatkal for AC classes opens at 10 AM, 1 day before departure. For non-AC (SL/2S), opens at 11 AM.

QHow to check PNR status?

Visit irctc.co.in or enquiry.indianrail.gov.in, enter your 10-digit PNR number. Also available on SMS (SMS PNR <number> to 139).

QWhat is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation charges apply based on class and time before departure. Minimum ₹60 (SL) to ₹240 (1A) flat charge + percentage.

QHow many tickets can I book per month?

Maximum 6 tickets per month per IRCTC ID. With Aadhaar-verified account, up to 12 tickets per month.
