India's research funding ecosystem includes UGC (University Grants Commission), CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), DST (Department of Science and Technology), DBT (Department of Biotechnology), and ICMR. These agencies offer JRF, SRF, fellowships, and project grants for PhD and postdoctoral researchers.
Clear UGC-NET (for humanities/science) or CSIR-NET/GATE (for engineering/science) for JRF fellowship.

PMRF gives top IIT/IISc students ₹70,000–₹80,000/month fellowship for direct PhD in prestigious institutions.
